In a statement released on the LeoVegas site, the group stated that they will work to promote responsible gambling through a voluntary campaign on the site. The LeoSafePlay platform operates on a separate site from LeoVegas site. To visit the LeoSafePlay platform, LeoVegas players will utilise a ‘Play Safe’ button added at the top of the site. The ‘Play Safe’ button will redirect players to an external site where they will walk through the LeoSafePlay responsible gaming program.

The LeoSafePlay platform offers LeoVegas players services on how best they can gamble responsibly. Information on the site help players become more aware of the dangers and signs of irresponsible gambling. In addition, there is a weekly and monthly self-assessment challenge that players can use to see if they are making progress or not when trying to recover from problem gambling. The self-assessment tool helps players measure their gambling habits.

In addition to the new LeoSafePlay platform, LeoVegas adopted a new drive that will see players restricted from playing by LeoVegas staff if they deem it necessary. LeoVegas says it continues to note with concern that problem gambling keeps increasing in the world even when casinos and other entities campaign vehemently against irresponsible gambling. As a result, it said that LeoVegas staff will from the month of November 2017 limit players’ playing time and deposits at their venues if they deem that the player has failed to control himself or herself.

LeoVegas is also training its staff in responsible gambling so that they become equipped with the necessary skills and tools to detect and assist players suffering from problem gambling.

LeoVegas took the opportunity to announce the LeoSafePlay responsible gambling initiative to a global audience during the screening of the Carabao Cup match between Premier League team Arsenal and Championship team Norwich during the first week of November.

LeoVegas is the main front-of-shirt sponsor for Norwich Football Club. During the Carabao Cup tie between Norwich and Arsenal, the LeoSafePlay logo featured on the shirtsleeves of all Norwich players.
